In my Book of Mormon, there is a certain chapter that has
fallen apart from the binding. This
chapter has fallen out because it has been read so much. 3 Nephi 17:8 states “I see that your faith is
sufficient that I should heal you”. This
powerful phrase gives me SO much hope, excitement, and motivation! I have faith that Heavenly Father and Jesus
Christ are able to and will (in their own timing) heal all of us from all of
our infirmities. I have faith that we
need to trust God and Jesus and to have faith in their timing.
Often times,
it can be very easy to have a perfect plan in our minds and to tell God exactly
how, when, why, where, etc. we want him to help us. And more often than not our plan for
ourselves does not match up exactly with what God has in store for us. This is because God intends something much
better than expected for all of us than what we can ever imagine for
ourselves. During the hard times it is
important to remind ourselves of that.
3 Nephi
chapter 17 applies to all of God’s children because he is the light of the
world for everyone. There is no place of
darkness that he cannot reach. There is
nothing that God cannot fix, heal, mend, or repair. Nothing is impossible for God. Whatever you are facing, face it with hope
and rely on the Lord because with him you will make it through. It is my joy and my testimony that God loves
to help us in the best of times and in the worst of times. I have seen this countless times in my own
life. In conclusion, 3 Nephi 17:6 states
that Jesus Christ’s “bowels are filled with compassion” I know that he
literally feels and aches for us. He is
filled with as much compassion and love for us that is possible. Jesus Christ is filled with and eternal
capacity to love and help us.
