Right now, I am experiencing a lot of fear. On Friday I will be having a colonoscopy, biopsy, and endoscopy. I think that I am way too young to already be having my second one! Anyways, I would appreciate any and all prayers in my behalf. I am praying for comfort, faith, strength, hope, and relief.
I am going to be ok. I am still planning on running my half marathon on June 27th. This is only an obstacle that I am going to overcome.
Being sick is not fun AT ALL.
Thankfully I will be home this week and will make the most out of all my movie watching and clear juice drinking.
Life is good.
Life is oh so good.
And in the words of Stephanie Nielson, "I am not my body"
I fully intend and have faith that I will recover.
Preferably sooner than later.
I am so looking forward to my half marathon and I want nothing to stand in the way of that.
My son (13) has crohn's and we are all inspired by your blog. Thank you for sharing your experience so openly. We'll pray for you as you prep for your procedures this weekend. Hopefully things will get better as a result of these tests. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much. That is so touching and humbling. I hope that your son is doing well also, that is such a young age to have Crohn's and he must be very brave to face this.
ReplyDeleteHe has only been diagnosed since November and so far he's actually doing pretty well. We can't get him into full remission (his inflammation is still too high) but symptomatically he's doing OK. He takes Imuran - which is helping but not getting us all the way where we need to be.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog because a good friend of mine, Nannette Watts, knows your mom. We served in the same mission.
Thanks again for your blog - I really get a lot from it. It is in the Must Read section of my blogroll! Good luck with your colonoscopy. I'm hopeful that they'll get information that will help you move to a better place.
