One Step at a Time

Growing up can be hard.  In fact, I think that it is intended to be hard so that we can learn.  One minute we are a kid and the next we are rushed out the door being asked questions like
"So what do you want to be when you grow up?"
"Are you dating anyone?"
"What's your major"
"What are you up to these days?"

Sometimes it may even feel like "so how do you want to solve world hunger and bring about peace?" hahaha

The list goes on....

I am learning that all these question are asked (at least most of the time, haha) by well meaning people who genuinely care.  And most the time I don't have a complete answer to these questions or they change all the time or they revolve a complicated answer and not just a simply yes or no.  *ok- wow!  Take a deep breath * Yeah, life can be a lot to take in.  Especially when you are in college.

I am learning that  as long as you do your best to do what you think is right for you things fall into place.  For instance, I am falling in love with my major (Exercise and Wellness) and I am learning just how right it is for me.  For the longest time I felt that nursing was the one and only path for me, but I am learning otherwise.  I am excited about many opportunities that are unfolding and I am hoping for a summer internship counseling others about their health.  This is truly what I am passionate about, and I hope that you can sense this.   And this is largely because I want to be the person for someone else who I wish I had when I went through my sickness 3 years ago.  (I have had a lot of people ask me about my story lately, and if you'd like to know more I am happy to talk to you)... Seriously!

So next time you don't know what your future holds just remember that things always work out.  One way or another.  I have learned that the hard way this past year.  But I am so grateful for the seemingly missed opportunities that I have had that have really been ways of opening new doors and possibilities that I could only find after those doors had been closed.

I am learning that life unfolds itself One Step at a Time
