It's no secret that we all have things about us that we would like to change. Everyone does!
Ask yourself: Have you ever wished you were
Taller?
Faster?
Shorter?
Skinnier?
Prettier?
Healthier?
Smarter?
Stronger?
Better health
More enthusiasm
That cute boy to finally ask you out
A certain test score
Less stress
Knowledge that the future will work out
A certain job, GPA, or internship
Less heartache from missing those you love or once loved
And perhaps you have even longed for ....
The simplicity of the way things used to be
The relationship you once had
Being able to eat food you can no longer eat
The health you once enjoyed, without even knowing just how good you really had it
Just one more conversation with whoever you are longing to speak with
The time before whatever is going on right. this. second.
The list goes on and on and on!
Well I am going to share with you a little trick that I have been working on lately.
Ready?
(It's really quite simple, actually)
I am learning that sometimes it is ok to just let go. Sound simple? Well that's because it is! And that's the way that it should be! But, like most things it is much easier said than done. Some things in life, actually a lot of things in life, are out of our control and we just need to let go. We need to trust. Let go and let God. And personally, I would much rather have him be in control than me.
Last night I had a great visit with my family and it is so wonderful to be able to reflect with them about just how good life is. Life really is so good! I know I say that a lot, but I realize it more and more. When life got harder, it certainly got a whole lot better.
I had a nice conversation with my cousin this week. As I was probably stressing out about some of the things on the lists above he reminded me of Peter in the New Testament who was blessed/cursed ("blessing in the curse", huh?) with a thorn in his flesh that humbled him and reminded him of Christ at all times. For me, my emotions play a role 100% with my health and I guess you could say this is my "blessing in the curse" that helps me to always remember that Christ is in control, and not me. And because of this, I have had the awesome and difficult experience of going through the journey of learning to love yourself because it effects your health tenfold. Really. Try it out.

I am working on my patience with myself, my health, and all the things that are simply out of my control. And you know what? It works miracles! When I spend less time and energy focusing on the things that I can't control they work out a whole lot better and I experience the miraculous healing I am often blessed with.
So please remember, that life is good!
We love your blog in our family. Thanks for your insights.
