Putting God First

Hello Friends and those reading my blog!  I hope you have all had a good Sunday.  As part of my "game plan" (see previous post), I have done some thinking today and this week about what to incorporate into this plan.  The first step that has come to me, and will serve as my foundation of healing is to put God first, and always. I know that I am not perfect at this, nor does God expect me to be in this lifetime.  However it will be a continual quest and worthwhile pursuit in this lifetime that will surely serve as a solid foundation for healing of all sorts.

This week I have been reminded and put into a situation where I can put this into practice. I badly hurt my shoulder again last weekend......... This has shifted my focus to allow more time for God and less time for less important things that I could be doing with both arms........This has also awakened me to appreciate many of the simple blessings and joys in this life. Such as carrying my own laundry, drying my hair, and exercising.

God has answered my prayers very specifically this week and I know that when we turn to him he will always help us right away, but not always in the way that we hope, but always in the way that we need.

Here are my thoughts as to how I am going to put God first: say a prayer of gratitude before each meal, pray first thing in the morning before getting distracted by my phone and other tasks, stay focused on what I need to accomplish so that I can leave time to ponder and listen to what God has to say to me, write in my journal how I have seen God helping me that day, and listen to promptings about what to eat and what not to, etc.

Living with crohn's disease is actually becoming quite easy and I literally hardly ever notice it anymore. I'd like to believe and give all the credit to God who is guiding me by the hand and telling me how to not only get by, but to succeed, and to eventually heal completely.

So this week I am going to make a special effort to put God first, and I challenge you to do the same. I know that he is waiting to bless you as you do!
